** this is still VERY MUCH a work in progress and i'm totally down to change certain aspects/things in this au to better work for threads, etc;
Jaina is the youngest child of Leia Organa and Han Solo (that way she isn't taking Rey's place, etc;). She was always closer to Han and at a very young age proved to be a very talented pilot.
She went with Ben to train to be Jedi and soon proved to be one of the best students even better than Ben which caused a rift between the siblings.
When Ben fell to the darkside and started to kill his fellow students he saved Jaina for last. Now that the darkside had taken over his deep-seeded resentment towards his sister became overwhelming and he wanted to make her suffer. They fought and he stabbed Jaina apparently killing her however, Luke sensing his niece dying used the Force to heal her after Ben had left. Before leaving Luke used the Force to hide Jaina from Kylo Ren and Snoke in a similar way to how Obi-Wan had protected Leia. He also was able to use the Force to make Jaina think that Ben had been killed and that Kylo Ren had murdered him along with the other Jedi.
Han and Leia decided to separate in order to keep Jaina safe, with Jaina going with Han and Chewie and Leia staying with the Resistance. They also convinced Jaina that her brother Ben had actually died the night he had attacked her. They tell Jaina she needs to keep her Force abilities and identity secret or Kylo Ren will come for her as well.
Jaina spent many years travelling with her father and Chewbacca, though she always wanted to join the Resistance despite Han's protestations.
After an argument with Han following the loss of the Millenium Falcon Jaina inlists in the Resistance using the name Marasiah Fel. Jaina quickly rose in the ranks of X-Wing pilots and was eventually chosen to lead the new Rogue Squadron. They allowed Jaina to handpick the rest of her squad.
It is around this time that Leia realizes that Fel is actually her daughter. And while she tries to protest the creation of Rogue Squadron saying they need all the pilots they can get elsewhere it falls on deaf ears. While the two do reunite it is a sombre occasion and neither openly recognizes the other as family - Leia implying it's still too dangerous for her identity to be known.
Jaina develops a reputation in the Resistance for being the best pilot and later adopts her custom black flight suit even distinguishing herself from the rest of Rogue Squadron.
During all this time Jaina feels the Force calling to her. She tries to push it aside. It becomes stronger after seeing her mother for the first time in years. Partly due to Leia having kept her daughter's lightsaber.
Jaina learns the horrible truth about her brother following the death of Han. Leia explains that they were trying to keep Jaina safe by keeping the truth from her. The two reconcile and Leia returns Jaina's lightsaber to her.
Jaina knows she needs to fight her brother. She seeks out her dad's old enemy Boba Fett and convinces him to train her.
** i'm still trying to figure this stuff out so a lot of it can be changed for various threads, etc; if that will make them work better. this is what happens when you're trapped at work in the holiday season and need something to keep your mind busy or you'll lose it.
RELATIONSHIPS ETC;
Ben Solo/Kylo Ren; Because there is only ever one other Solo twin in this au i see these two more as brother and sister rather than twins (and I don't want to potentially take anything away from Rey). With somewhat of an age gap. I'm here for all the negative cr, especially since in Legends the Expanded Universe Jaina ends up killing her brother when he has fallen to the darkside. Obviously Jaina doesn't need to kill Ben buuuut it's going to be complicated. Especially when she finds out the truth and that he killed their father.
Rey; I really didn't want to push Rey aside with this AU so for a lot of it her story remains the same. I'm sure we can come up with some reason why Jaina does or doesn't go with Rey to bring Luke back or something. Maybe Jaina helps train Rey at some point? Idk. They become friends. They become more than friends (Jaina is the best Solo child just saying!)?!
Poe Dameron; so ngl this is my otp that will never ever happen lmfao. As much as I love them as a ship I'd just love the two of them to be friends because how would they not get be or at least have a friendly rivalry.
Han and Leia; Give me all the angsty parent/child stuff please! In this universe she was most likely closest to Han, though the two would eventually have a falling out.
Luke; FINISH HER TRAINING YOU SILLY MAN. Also she's going to call him out for running away so there's that.
